Rocky Oaks Ranch is a family ranch that grew out of our kids' 4-H projects and our love for animals. We are located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills in Northern California. In addition to raising and showing N.P.G.A. registered Pygmy Goats, we also raise and show Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats (under the Lost Oak herdname).

We have a wide variety of pygmy goat colors available... agoutis, silvers (light gray agoutis), caramels, blacks, and chocolates (brown agoutis). Since we are actively involved in 4-H, our goats are handled frequently and often. All babies are cuddled from the time they are born. All potential wethers are castrated at a minimum of 12 weeks old in order to provide their urinary tracts time to mature and reduce the risk for urinary calculi problems later in life.

Our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat herd was started in 2006... we bred Alpine Dairy Goats for a few years, but we decided that we really enjoy raising miniature goats and think the flashy and wild colors in Nigerians are amazing and fun!   Our Foundation Herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats come from the well-known champion herds of MK, Twin Creeks, and Prairie Wood Ranch.    Nigerians are similar in size to Pygmy Goats, but are slimmer in body and bone, have traditional dairy goat structure and characteristics, as well as easier milk production than pygmies, AND come in all color and pattern variations imaginable (almost!).   They also can have gorgeous sky blue eyes...  which we have in our herd.
